L'orange mécanique And then, here it is, the "clockwork orange", a secondhand Bug which I saw by chance in Sologne near Orléans in september 1999. It reminds me at once of the Microbus for its color and year-making, and I eventually gave in...

It's a 1200, made in June 1973 (4 months older than me), with about 100 000 km at the clock, and with a gloss orange color.
It belonged to a woman who used to drive least than 4000 km a year to go to work.
With its 34 hp engine, it is entirely original... except :
- the right rear-view mirror assembled in drilling the door,
- a reverse light set up with some green wire mesh,
- the antenna fixed to the right edge of the roof,
- the electrical circuit in 12 V,
- the tires in 165x15 and the spare wheel in 155x15,
- a thermometer and two coins racks glued to the dashboard,
- the rims painted outside in silver grey whereas they are black inside.
That's all! ;-)

Apart from some rust (under the wings, bottom of doors, bottom of spare wheel), the Cox is in a pretty good shape... and now I drive sometimes on nice days only to hear the flat-four and to feel the driving of the Beetle... a mythical car!
