Two VW in Larache and Rabat, Morocco
During a trip to Morocco in november
2000, I saw a lot of bay window microbus of which some were
heavily loaded! They are used to transport goods and vegetables
to the market in médinas, mainly in the region of Tanger.
The microbus with the reversed VW logo comes from the
village of Larache located on atlantic coast between Rabat
and Tanger.
On the other hand, I saw only one beettle
in spite of a 1200 km loop going from Rabat and passing by Tanger,
Fès and Meknès. The last night in Rabat,
the day before taking off to Paris, I was walking in the streets
and then, just before going back to the hotel, I heard a familiar
noise... It was a custom beetle, with Golf headlights,
not of the better taste, but all the same, it's the only beetle
I saw in Morocco in one week...
